As a founder of Sonar Music, Andrew Lancaster is Sonar’s Renaissance man. Composer, performer, director, interpretive dancer - sometimes simultaneously, on multiple continents.

Andrew Lancaster, a star at Sonar, is celebrated for his AACTA-winning score for The Hunter starring Willem Dafoe. His repertoire includes diverse film and television scores like Garage Days and Black Comedy. In London, Andrew collaborated on scores for films such as Ferrari Race to Immortality.

His latest, Inshallah A Boy debuted at Cannes. Beyond composing, he's released albums with Lino and directed ARIA-winning music clips, proving his wide-ranging talents in the industry.

His impressive film score that he co-composed for The Hunter (starring Willem Dafoe) won the illustrious AACTA award for Best Music for a Feature Film in 2012.

Andrew has also composed a myriad of feature films and television scores that include Garage Days, West, Being Venice, Miracle on Everest, Redfern Now and Black Comedy.

In London has co-written film scores for Ferrari: Race to Immortality, I Am You and Joud in collaboration with Jerry Lane and the London Contemporary Orchestra. The most recent score, Inshallah A Boy, premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

When he’s not on the tools Andrew has released albums with his band Lino for Virgin Records and directed ARIA award-winning music clips feature films (Accidents Happen staring Geena Davis) and somehow he still finds time to finetune his vintage synths.
