Full Bio / Awards

Jackson is an ARIA, AACTA, and APRA award-winning composer who began his career at age 21 in New York City as the lead singer of the hugely successful band High Highs. The band was picked up by Elton John’s management company and record label, toured the world, appeared in numerous films and right now has over 90 million streams on Spotify. And that’s not including Jackson’s 2022 debut solo album Blu Terra on R&S Records/Apollo, and his 2025 project Sonatine on Anjunadeep, collaborating with Fort Romeau - a staple in people’s wrapped instabrags all over the world.

Jackson’s partnership with Sonar Music continues to move from strength to strength, writing award-winning scores for TV series The Twelve, Stan’s Bloom (AGSC Award for Best Music for a TV Series), BUMP, Erotic Stories, Meet the Neighbours, Amazing Grace and the much loved documentary series Books That Made Us. He also collaborated with Tim Minchin on the highly acclaimed series Upright, was ARIA-Nominated for his feature film score on The Way, My Way and also has composed many feature documentaries including Netflix’s The Speedway Murders (AACTA Nomination Best Documentary Score), Hot Potato: The Story of the Wiggles and Netflix’s Machine.

He also collaborated with acclaimed Australian artist Leila Jefferys and Melvin Montalban on large scale installations Temple for VIVID Sydney 2022 (D&AD Nominated for Original Composition) and NEST for VIVID Sydney 2024, creating stunning orchestral compositions inspired by the textures and sounds of Native Australian birdlife.

Jackson is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist; crafting award-winning commercial scores for global clients, including the iconic pub choir for Carlton Draught.
